Every year in January, the University of Miami hosts the Beaux Arts Festival of Art. It is Miami’s longest-running juried art festival. This festival features over 150 fine art exhibitors, a children’s art tent, marketplace, a beer garden, food and live entertainment. It is a free outdoor community event ideal for all art enthusiasts, offering artwork in a variety of media and price ranges. I was commissioned by the Life at the U team to create an illustrated map of the campus to show the various spots where there will be hosting many of the events exhibits. This was a very fun project with a tight deadline and simplifying this campus map was a great challenge. Everyone was really happy with the outcome. Take a look!
I helped create the identity for my client who is starting up a home-made, organic wellness brand with her mother. Through our conversations, she wanted to create a clean, minimalistic brand that communicates her connection with the sun and the moon. The selected colors that represent the vision of what she wants to create, a world where we can use plants as our allies, to heal, nourish, and receive good self-care.
As I've been having some free time, I'm really loving exploring what I can create and come up with as the summer continues and I am inspired and my creativity is flowing. I am really enjoying this burst, it had been a while!
I recently took a 2D Character design course as part of my MFA program at the University of Miami and I acquired an iPad for it as well as the Procreate app which is by far one of my absolute favorite applications. I have never felt so excited to have free time to be creative and draw to my heart's desire.
